The worst / best paying banks in London?

Enough rumours and anecdotal evidence.

We have gathered all Investment and Banking front office entries at director level in order to list the best/worst paying banks in London. Citigroup leads the charge with Directors averaging GBP370,000. Although it is surprising that we should find European banks in 2nd and 3rd place, the usual top tier suspects (Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley) were further down the line in 6th, 8th and 9th place respectively, however they reach the top of the table when looking at MD remuneration packages.

When it comes to the lower payers, Lloyds averages less than half of the packages paid out by Deutsche and Credit Suisse, even lagging far behind troubled Spanish bank Santander (average GBP207,000). With the next bonus season shortly upon us, watch this space for the refreshed league table in early 2014...
