Top Awards YOU could win in 2015

The start of a New Year always signals time for the world's media to turn their attention to the glitzy showbiz award ceremonies like the BAFTAs, Oscars and the Brits, but there are a whole host of award ceremonies out there that could give you your moment in the spotlight. Winning, or even being shortlisted for an award is not only a nice pat on the back for all your hard work, but can also be a huge boost for your career as you receive recognition from your peers and industry colleagues.

So if you fancy dusting of your tuxedo or walking down the red carpet, here is our run down of five of the best awards that YOU could be going up to collect in 2015:

First Women Awards:

Open to all business women in the UK, the First Women awards celebrate the achievements of individuals in fields as diverse as finance, media, engineering, tourism and retail. The awards started in 2005 and have been growing in stature ever since, and as 2015 will be their tenth anniversary, we are sure it will be a night to remember for the winners.

Director of the Year:

Run by the Institute of Directors London and the South East, these awards celebrate the achievements of individuals from businesses of all sizes across London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Categories include Director of the Year for large, medium and small companies, Young Director of the Year and Family Business Director of the Year. Finalists for the 2014 awards will be announced in February 2015, leaving plenty of time for your nomination later in the year for the 2015 awards.

Wealth Management Awards:

As well as companies, these awards recognise quality of service from individuals in the Wealth Management industry with categories including Best Fund Manager, Most Promising Newcomer and Private Banker of the Year. But be quick, nominations close on 16th January 2015 ahead of the winners being announced at gala dinner on 17th March.

FD Excellence Awards:

If you are a Finance Director of a company of any size, this is your chance to shine. With categories covering small, mid-sized, large and Private-Equity backed companies, and even an award for Young Finance Professional of the Year, there is an opportunity for anyone to be recognised for their excellence.

Future Leaders Award:

This award was set up by Women in the City, and typically recognises individuals who are at a transition point between management and leadership. Women in the City say that most Future Leaders Awards finalists gain a promotion to a senior executive position within six months of the achievement, so the 2015 awards, which launch on 16th March before nominations open on 1st April, could give you a vital boost up the career ladder.
